规定了三种国际通用尺寸的幻灯片和标题栏的基本尺寸。它们旨在促进投影仪幻灯片的制造、使用和国际互换性。本规范不适用于小于3厘米×3厘米的所谓“亚微型”幻灯片，也不适用于专门用途的幻灯片，例如电视幻灯片。

Specified are the essential dimensions of slides of three internationally used sizes and of the title strip. They are intended to facilitate the manufacture, use and international interchangeability of projector slides. The specifications do not apply to so-called "sub-miniature" slides, which are smaller than 3 cm by 3 cm, nor to slides for specialized use, e.g. for television.
