测试可在干燥和潮湿状态下进行，但潮湿状态下的测试被认为特别适合于指示所用纱线的性能。可使用以下任何类型的拉伸试验机:恒定拉伸速率试验机；横移机的恒定速度。应优先选用恒速拉伸机。

Tests may be carried out in both the dry and wet states but tests in the wet state are considered to be particularly appropriate in indicating the behaviour of the yarn in use. Any of the following types of tensile testing machines may be used: constant rate of elongations machine; constant rate of traverse machine. Preference should be given to constant rate of elongation machines.
