ISO 6107-6:2004定义了水质表征某些领域中使用的术语。除了三种ISO官方语言（英语、法语和俄语）中的术语和定义外，ISO 6107-6:2004给出了德语中的等效术语及其定义；这些文件由德国（DIN）、奥地利（ON）和瑞士（SNV）的成员机构负责发布。然而，只有官方语言中给出的术语和定义才能被视为ISO术语和定义。

ISO 6107-6:2004 defines terms used in certain fields of water quality characterization.In addition to the terms and definitions in the three official ISO languages (English, French and Russian), ISO 6107-6:2004 gives the equivalent terms and their definitions in the German language; these are published under the responsibility of the member bodies of Germany (DIN), Austria (ON) and Switzerland (SNV). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.
