ISO 4960:2007适用于碳质量分数超过0.25%的冷还原碳钢带。通常生产厚度小于等于6 mm，宽度不超过600 mm的线圈和切割长度。钢带在交付状态下订购，主要用于弹簧，但也用于许多不同类型的其他高应力零件。可在淬火和回火条件下提供钢代号CS55至CS95。ISO 4960:2007不适用于合金钢或不锈钢。

ISO 4960:2007 applies to cold-reduced carbon steel strip with a mass fraction of carbon over 0,25 %. It is commonly produced in thicknesses of 6 mm and under, and in widths up to 600 mm exclusive, in coils and cut lengths. The strip is ordered in the as-delivered condition and is predominantly used for springs, but also for other highly stressed parts of many different types. Steel designations CS55 to CS95 may be supplied in the quenched and tempered condition.ISO 4960:2007 does not apply to alloy steels or stainless steels.
