本国际标准通过图示描述了英语、法语和德语中用于接头类型、接头准备和焊接的大多数更常见的术语。本国际标准可单独使用，也可与其他类似标准结合使用。注1本国际标准中的附图仅为说明不同类型接头的典型特征而绘制的草图。附图不一定是它们应该在设计或技术图纸上描绘的(例如，根据ISO 2553)。注2除了以ISO三种官方语言（英语和法语）中的两种语言给出的术语外，本国际标准还以德语给出了等效术语；这些由德国成员机构（DIN）负责发布。然而，只有以官方语言给出的术语和定义才能被视为ISO术语和定义。

This International Standard describes by pictorial representation most of the more common terms, in English, French and German, for types of joints, joint preparation and welds.This International Standard can be used on its own or in conjunction with other similar standards.NOTE 1 The figures in this International Standard are only sketches that have been drawn to illustrate the typical characteristic features of different types of joint. The figures are not necessarily as they should be portrayed on design or technical drawings (e.g. in accordance with ISO 2553).NOTE 2 In addition to terms given in two of the three official ISO languages (English and French), this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in the German language; these are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms and definitions.
