本国际标准规定了高性能STbus的逻辑规范以及高度可靠的系统总线。ST总线采用同步传输方法高速时钟和一种分离传输方法，可以最大限度地减少一个周期内的总线保持时间总线操作和有效地使用总线。本国际标准适用于高性能系统总线或多处理器系统中的I/O总线。典型的ST总线应用程序是紧耦合的多处理器系统中的系统总线和I/O总线，以及松耦合多处理器系统的系统总线。

This International Standard specifies the logical specifications of STbus which is a high-performanceand highly reliable system bus. STbus adopts a synchronous transfer method with ahigh-speed clock and a split transfer method enabling to minimize bus holding time during onebus operation and to use a bus efficiently.This International Standard is applicable to a high-performance system bus or an I/O bus in a multiprocessor system. Typical STbus applications are a system bus and an I/O bus in a tightly coupled multiprocessor system, and a system bus in a loosely coupled multiprocessor system.
