ISO 8178-4:2007规定了与测功机相连的往复式内燃机（RIC）气体和颗粒废气排放测量和评估的试验循环。在某些限制条件下，ISO 8178的这一部分也可用于现场测量。试验在稳态运行下进行，使用代表给定应用的试验循环。ISO 8178-4:2007适用于移动、可运输和固定用途的RIC发动机，不包括主要用于道路用途的机动车发动机。它可以应用于所使用的发动机，例如土方机械、发电机组和其他应用。

ISO 8178-4:2007 specifies the test cycles for the measurement and the evaluation of gaseous and particulate exhaust emissions from reciprocating internal combustion (RIC) engines coupled to a dynamometer. With certain restrictions, this part of ISO 8178 can also be used for measurements at site. The tests are carried out under steady-state operation using test cycles which are representative of given applications.ISO 8178-4:2007 is applicable to RIC engines for mobile, transportable and stationary use, excluding engines for motor vehicles primarily designed for road use. It may be applied to engines used, e.g. for earth-moving machines, generating sets and for other applications.
