ISO/IEC 15938-6:20 03是ISO/IEC 15938标准的参考软件。它实现了ISO/IEC 15938标准的规范性组件，即描述符和描述方案及其编码方案。除此之外，还实现了信息组件。这些是例如提取描述和匹配描述的过程。这样，参考软件在所谓的关键应用程序中实现用于各个描述符和描述方案的基本功能。除了参考软件源代码之外，ISO/IEC 15938-6:20 03还给出了参考软件的描述。指定了关键应用程序的组件及其接口。

ISO/IEC 15938-6:2003 is the reference software for ISO/IEC 15938 standard. It implements the normative components of the ISO/IEC 15938 standard, which are the descriptors and description schemes and their coding schemes.

Besides this, also informative components are implemented. These are, e.g, the procedures to extract descriptions and to match descriptions. This way, the reference software implements basic functionalities for individual descriptors and description schemes in the so-called key applications.

Besides the reference software source code, ISO/IEC 15938-6:2003 gives also a description of the reference software. The components of the key applications and their interfaces are specified.
