第二版取消并取代第一版（ISO 4345:1977），第一版构成技术修订版。指定使用天然纤维和人造纤维的结构和特性。不适用于矿井提升用绳索。包括五个附件。

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 4345:1977), of which it constitutes a technical revision. Specifies the construction and characteristics using natural and man-made fibres. Is not applicable to ropes for mine hoisting purposes. Includes five annexes.
